The Return of Foom

We’re on for game night this Friday, 7ish, my place.  It looks like the core group of players (Akanthos, Beaucifer, Mattimus and myself) will be playing.  “The Sandman” might show up, but since he’s too cool for this game, he’ll just be hanging out and poking fun at us.  With friends like these….

Anyway, on to the game specs:

Game 1:  The Return of Foom – 1200 point “He Whose Limbs Shatter Mountains and Whose Back Scrapes the Sun” scenario.

Now, according to the official rules of the scenario, it is suggested that in a four-player game against the 1200 point Foom, each player have a build total of 300 points.  If I recall correctly, the last time we followed this guideline when battling FFF, we got stomped like a midget in a mosh-pit.  So I’d like to propose that we each build 400 point teams, just to improve our chances of defeating the green behemoth.

Game 2:  600 point Signature Team.

As previously discussed within the group, we will each construct a “signature team” for each 100 point build total increment (100, 200, 300, etc) up to perhaps 1000.  Once established and revealed to the rest of the group, these teams will be permanent fixtures in our gaming rotation, to be called upon and employed at a moment’s notice.  The cool thing about having a set team that either has worked well for each of us in the past or that we think has great potential, is that even though they’ll never change, no two games when using them will ever be the same.  With all the variables that are applied to the game, it’ll be a completely new battle every time.

Having said all that, I’d better start working on my teams.

See you Friday!

  1. I’m so stoked. This will be a great game.

  2. I tried, I really tried, but I have no complete teams. I’m going in to this game with a rough draft of what I might want to try.

  3. I’m not too confident in my 400 point “Dragon Slayer” team. I’m pretty much putting all my eggs in one basket.

400 points really isn’t much when you’re trying to construct a team of some heavy hitters.

It should prove to be an interesting game.
